Bernard Edwards played his Fender Precision Bass through an Ampeg SVT on Chic's 'Good Times', recorded at Power Station in NYC with Bob Clearmountain engineering. The bass was captured using both direct input and a Neumann U47 microphone on the amp, then compressed through a Urei 1176 to achieve the punchy, articulate sound that became one of disco's most iconic basslines.
